Sean Herrera is a 2007 graduate of Orange Coast College in Southern California. Majoring in “Still Photography”. Sean soon found a heavy interest in creating and editing moving pictures as well, and began working as a “weekend warrior” in short film production.Over the past 10 years Sean has cultivated his “Still” and “Video” skills while helping others as a top sales person in a very well known, respected, and popular Southern California camera store chain. His time on the sales floor allowed him to gain invaluable experience in teaching many areas including but not limited to: Photography, Filmmaking, and techniques of the trade.Sound is a quintessential part of filmmaking. So, logically many of Sean’s lessons have revolved around this aspect. Now as Western Regional Product Specialist for Rode Microphones, Event Electronics and Aphex, Sean is able to teach even more people how to properly record their audio for filmmaking and other purposes.

Class Description:

Making a good film is hard to do. Luckily this class will give you the knowledge on how to be better prepared for your tasks at hand. The class will go over the audio aspect of filmmaking with practical situations and solutions that can happen out in the field. We will guide you through some common types of microphones that are best used in certain situations. Some of the microphone types will include Lavaliers, Shotguns, and cardioid polar capsules. With audio being a great start, this class will also include how to use boom poles, setting your levels, when to use a lavalier, and much more.
